Freewrite on Quotes Pt. 2

I took the view point on this quote that the "condemned man" was actually still a king, just the worst one possible. From that view point, you can see two different characteristics of a good king that a condemned man could have. He could be a powerless king, a figurehead, being controlled by plotters in the background. Or, he could be an unjust king, ruling by power, lavishing in his riches, and being the epitome of a Machiavellian ruler.
